Long Island Summer Wedding

John and Sophia began dating back in 2015 and have been lovebirds ever since. It was in 2019 that they got engaged, on the 4th of July to be more exact. Overlooking the Macy’s Fireworks in a helicopter the infamous “will you marry me?” was brought up and the answer “yes” followed right after. Here we are 2 years later celebrating these two coming together for one special night.

Long Island Summer Wedding

We started the day off like any other, the bride and groom followed by their bridal parties getting ready. I always love starting off the mornings taking detail shots while everyone is getting ready. I always suggest to have items/specific things you want incorporated into your detail shots ready by the time your photographer arrives. That way we are able to capture detail shots without disrupting the flow of the getting ready process. Sophia and John even had their little pup in a tux, brb… I die! After everyone was done getting ready, Sophia put on her gorgeous dress from Berta & Berta NYC and waited for her father to arrive for their first look.

If anyone is looking to add more special moments on their wedding day, I always encourage to add a first look. Whether it be with your partner or a parent/guardian, the look on their faces when they see you for the first time is absolutely priceless and so incredibly worth it.

After Sophia’s father’s priceless reaction of seeing his daughter in her wedding dress, it was time to head to the ceremony. The ceremony was held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and let me tell you… the decor and architecture of this church was out of this world beautiful. Everything from the beautiful chandelier to the perfectly painted murals on the ceiling was breathtaking and I was more than excited to be able to sit there snappin’ away!

Reception at Larkfield Manor

After the ceremony, we headed on over to Sophia & John’s reception location at Larkfield Manor. This venue embodies old world romance whole heartedly and it is just absolutely remarkable. They even have the Larkfield Gardens with plenty of greenery and fountains so of course we had to utilize this beautiful scenery for S+J’s wedding portraits.

We made our way to the reception where there was nothing but laughing, dancing and a LOT of good food. The open dance floor became everyone’s safe haven as they rallied in to have such a fun time with the newlyweds. The day was perfect and I am so honored to have been there for Sophia and John to capture these amazing moments for them. Congratulations S+J!

As for plans for the newlyweds? Well as if their day couldn’t get anymore amazing, for their honeymoon Sophia and John went to Turks & Caicos! Okay… jealous much? YES!
