Despite the cold weather here in NJ, these two lovebirds trooped through it to have some of the most beautiful engagement photos I have ever seen!

Sabrina and Jimmy really wanted something that incorporated a lot of greenery and stunning architecture, which is why Princeton University seemed to be the perfect option! Whenever my couples are having some trouble figuring out engagement photo locations, I love giving them some of my favorite locations to check out. Princeton University is one of those amazing spots that is timeless and is filled with so many beautiful structures and greenery.

One of the best things about this location as well, is the fact that there is so many different places to shoot! You can really play around with the different structures and make it feel like you’re in a new location in every photo, which of course I love! To be honest, Sabrina and Jimmy were absolute naturals in front of the camera and their love truly radiated through every capture. I was obsessed by how in sync these two were with each other which made photographing them THAT much easier.

What to wear to your Engagement Session?

During their engagement session, Sabrina and Jimmy opted to do an outfit change! Outfit changes are great to incorporate a more casual outfit and a more formal one. Just make sure with your photographer that you will have enough to do a quick change! With that being said, I know that a LOT of people struggle with what to wear during their engagement session. The dreaded question that all of us face from time to time… or all of the time.. LOL!

Here are some tips to reduce the worry and make sure your engagement photos are in tip top shape!

1. Wear clothes that feel like YOU! - I can’t stress this enough! No matter what, the most important thing during any session really is to make sure you’re wearing clothes that make you feel confident. You want to feel good as well as look good, so don’t try and dress outside of your comfort zone for sessions. Stick to what you know, what you feel comfortable in and everything will be golden!

2. Don’t match, but compliment! - You definitely want to incorporate your own personal style during your engagement session. Rather than matching with your partner, focus on complimenting each other. Look at complimentary colors and stick to solid prints! You don’t want any distractions during your session since the focus should be all on YOU!

3. When in doubt: Neutrals, Neutrals, Neutrals: If you’re ever struggling with what to wear, what colors to choose, the best option is to stick with neutrals! Neutral tones like white, black, creams, tans and browns go a long way and will work with everything.

At the end of the day, the main thing to remember is that you’re here to have a good time and get some amazing photos taken. If you start to overthink things, THAT is when the process can become overwhelming which is exactly the opposite of what we want. Oh, and don’t worry… I am here every step of the way to make sure that you are taken care of and feelin AND lookin’ your best *wink*.
