New Jersey Wedding at The Mainland
Nicole and Jay are the type of couple that make anything and everything look so easy and effortless. From the planning process to the actual day of the wedding, working with them was an absolute dream. Their day was filled with so much light & laughter and I am so happy to be able to share their New Jersey Wedding at The Mainland with you today!
The Love Story
These two lovebirds actually met on social media where Jay was in hot pursuit of Nicole. Eventually they went on their first date at Barnes & Noble and the rest was history. Jay had actually told her that he was going to marry her on the first day they met, uhm #goals. After dating for a bit, Nicole and Jay got engaged in December of 2019 at a Christmas tree farm. Oh and did I say that I was crying? Because I am! These two have patiently waited for their moment to shine and I was so excited for their wedding day to finally arrive.
Getting Ready & First Looks
Just like how many wedding days start, both the bride and groom spent the morning getting ready in their own hotel rooms. It’s also customary that if a bride and groom are getting ready at the same time, that your wedding photographer will have a second photographer. Unfortunately, us photographers can’t be in two places at once so having second shooters really helps make sure that we are not missing a moment!
After Nicole was done getting ready, she really wanted to do a small first look with her dad. First looks aren’t just with your partner, but can be with your parent as well! Just as much as this is a special moment for you, it’s a special moment for them too! As soon as Nicole’s dad saw her his face lit up with pure joy. These moments are my favorite because they are so genuine, raw and real. Next up was her first look with Jay, which was equally as exciting. The anticipation and the build up to this point can be very overwhelming and exciting so make sure to take a few deep breaths before your big reveal! Trust me, this can go a long way.
New Jersey Wedding at The Mainland
We made sure to take a few portraits before heading over to N+J’s wedding ceremony space, The Mainland. This gorgeous venue is the perfect blend of elegance with a bit of a rustic essence. It’s the perfect all-in-one spot if you’re looking for amazing catering, drinks and a fun space to seat up to 500 of your closest family & friends. It was such a fun location to shoot at and highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the search of an amazing New Jersey wedding venue.
As the ceremony started and Nicole walked down the aisle with her father, I couldn’t help but be in awe with how gorgeous her dress was. Shoutout to Castle Couture for making some of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have ever seen - like WOW! Throughout the whole ceremony, despite me having to take photos I just couldn’t stop staring at how in love these two were. It was such a sweet moment and I am so happy to have been able to capture such special moments.
Once the ceremony was over, it was reception time! These two know how to throw a damn good party because everyone was having the time of their lives. Of course The Mainland had great catering and the DJ, Flawless Entertainment, made sure that everyone was on the dance floor having a great time. We ended the night with some cake cutting, a good bouquet toss and of course… MORE DANCING! I may or may not have busted one too many moves, but you know what they say - go hard or go home!
