If any of you know me, you know that I love the beach. It’s my happy place and I absolutely love spending my free time there (weather permitting of course - lol). I especially love it when my couples choose a venue near or on the beach. Like hello, you are speaking my language! When Julianna and Brian inquired about having their wedding with some gorgeous water views, I said sign me up. I knew after meeting that we were on the same page for their wedding vision and I was determined to make it happen. Their New Jersey wedding at The Reeds at Shelter Haven was a day truly worth remembering.

Julianna and Brian had their wedding at The Reeds at Shelter Haven, a luxury hotel resort located in Stone Harbor, NJ. Bride & Groom Getting Ready

One of the most nerve-wracking moments (in the best way possible) on your wedding day is the getting ready process. There are so many moving parts and it can be wild, crazy, and exciting all at the same time. The most important thing to remember when getting ready on your wedding day is to stay calm and be prepared for just about anything. Especially if you are getting your hair & makeup done, it’s important to keep track of your timeline and ensure that everything is running smoothly and on time. Or else you run the risk of everything else running behind as well.

Julianna got ready at the bridal suite at their wedding venue with her bridal party, while Brian and his groomsmen finished getting ready at a shore house nearby. When having two getting-ready locations, having two photographers is essential. That way while one is covering one spouse, the other photographer is covering the other spouse! No moment goes unmissed which is why CSP always has two photographers in all of our wedding packages.

New Jersey Wedding at The Reeds at Shelter Haven

Julianna and Brian’s love is absolutely radiating and truly showed throughout their entire wedding day. You could just tell that both of them love each other so much and that even being around each other just showed the passion and love they had towards one another. We were able to take some beautiful portraits along the beach and really just soak up the smell of the saltwater in the air. Julianna even had a custom denim jacket made with Mrs. Stoume engraved on the back - how cute!! The main goal that Julianna and Brian wanted for their wedding day was to incorporate that light, airy and flowy imagery (which you know… is kinda my thing) while still being fun and candid. They wanted to look back on their wedding day and remember each emotion and feeling, so we made sure to keep that in mind while photographing.

Their ceremony of course was under this gorgeous A-frame arch overlooking the ocean, which at that point I just about died. It was the most beautiful ceremony, filled with so many touching (and tearful) moments. As soon as these two were pronounced Mr & Mrs. Soutme (has a nice ring to it, right?), you could just see their smiles reach from ear to ear. Both J+B were over the moon happy and those are the moments we’ve got to capture.

During cocktail hour, I stole Julianna and Brian for some golden hour portraits on the docks by the water. The sun was just what the doctor ordered and it was pure perfection! We made it back inside just in time for their reception to start and Julianna and Brian to make their grand entrance. Happy as clams, these two entered in on cloud 9 and we don’t blame them. The remainder of the night was spent on the dance floor, eating some cake, enjoying the beautiful water views on the terrace, and enjoying the moments with our CSP couple. If you’re wondering where I’ll be for the rest of the week, it’s fantasizing about being on the beach once again.
